Last week, our expert metallurgist Juha Roininen participated in the third meeting of SUPPORT – CAST project, at one the participants premise in Spain.
SUPPORT – CAST aims to develop online-monitoring systems and numerical models to identify defects during the steel casting process. This will support operators in their decisions and improve process control.
This project is part of the EU RFCS projects and the coordinator is SWERIM AB (Swedish Research Institute for Mining, Metallurgy and Materials). The participating companies are: Sidenor Investigación y Desarrollo S.A., VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH, Outokumpu Stainless AB, Acciaieria Di Calvisano Spa and Sapotech.
